There are over 500 ICE members living in the Republic of Ireland and working on a huge range of projects across the country.
At the heart of everything we do in the country is the Republic of Ireland Local Association based in Dublin. The association of volunteer ICE members help arrange events, visits to ongoing engineering projects and social activities. It also plays a vital role in helping to increase the profile of civil engineering.
We also have a Graduate and Students Committee that supports members working towards professional qualification.
We have an Agreement of Cooperation with Engineers Ireland which means members of either organisation can attend meetings, conferences and use library facilities at members' rates.
There are streamlined routes to registration for professionally qualified MICE and MIEI under the admission pathways agreement between the Engineering Council and Engineers Ireland. In addition, MIEI can benefit from UK legislation on the recognition of EEA professional professions when applying for registration with ICE. To apply to ICE, please contact [email protected]. In September 2023, ICE President Keith Howells visited Cork and addressed members at Cork County Hall. The Europe Regional Committee also held their annual regional strategy meeting. Read a summary of the visit, written by ICE’s country representative in Ireland Yvonne Murphy.
Keith Howells learned about the history of Cork’s water supply and took part in discussions about sustainable and resilient infrastructure.
The Emerging Engineers Award (EEA) encourages and rewards the communication of civil engineering ideas, research and best practice in projects and design. Come along to 2025 EEA ICE Brennan Cup NI regional final.
The webinar will talk about the attributes and qualifications for becoming a Fellow of ICE.
This presentation explores real-world case studies, highlighting engineering challenges and the benefits achieved through SuDS. Gain insights into how policymakers, engineers, and developers can collaborate to future-proof cities and protect communities from climate threats.
