Factory visit to Eastern Pretech: advancing excellence in precast concrete manufacturing

Overview

This factory visit offers a unique opportunity to explore the manufacturing of precast concrete components at Eastern Pretech, one of Malaysia's leading precast concrete manufacturers.

As Industrialised Building System (IBS) adoption continues to transform the construction industry, precast technology plays a vital role in improving construction quality, productivity, safety, and sustainability. Participants will gain first-hand exposure to the complete production process, from mould preparation, reinforcement and prestressing works, concrete casting and curing, to demoulding, finishing, quality inspection, storage, and delivery of precast elements to project sites.

Throughout the visit, participants will observe the production of various precast structural components, including hollowcore slabs, double tee slabs, beams, columns, wall panels, and staircases. The visit will also demonstrate how quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) systems are implemented to ensure compliance with project specifications and relevant British Standards (BS) and Eurocodes.

Through this experience, attendees will gain practical insights into modern manufacturing practices, appreciate the close integration between structural design, production, and construction, and better understand the contribution of precast technology to delivering efficient, durable, and sustainable infrastructure.
