Calling all student members on degree apprenticeships, graduate and technician members - incoming ICE President Keith Howells is looking for his Future Leaders.
Incoming ICE President, Keith Howells, is looking for six student members on degree apprenticeships, graduate, or technician members to join him as his Future Leaders.
The President’s Future Leaders Scheme is an opportunity for up-and-coming engineers and technicians to gain an insight into the top of the profession and to boost their careers.
Successful candidates will work on strategic ICE projects, attend key institution events, meet senior industry professionals and politicians, be mentored by the President, and accompany him on regional visits.
Howells will use his presidential year to promote a greater understanding of the links between:
- Achieving net zero by decarbonising our industry.
- Improving productivity to reduce waste and carbon.
- Making better use of the planet’s limited resources.
- Building resilience into our infrastructure.
- Understanding the importance of taking a holistic view of projects which support the sustainable development goals (SDGs).
He will also be highlighting the moral duty ICE members have to enhance the knowledge, insight, and ethical understanding of engineers to better address these issues.
His future leaders will have a major part to play by helping ICE focus on the key issues and making sure solutions support the SDGs.
