ICE Associate membership and the AMICE post nominals are a validation of your contribution to the built environment. They are globally recognised and demonstrate a commitment to professional excellence.

Who can become an ICE Associate Member?
Associate membership is open to professionals, other than civil engineers, working in the built environment.
- If you are an engineer professionally qualified with one of the bodies on the approved professional engineering bodies list, you will need to provide:
- Details of your academic qualifications
- Details of your professional qualification* and a copy of your certificate
- If you are professionally qualified with one of the bodies on the approved other professional bodies list and work in the built environment, you will need to provide:
- Details of your academic qualifications
- Details of your professional qualification* and a copy of your certificate
- If you are not registered with one of the professional bodies on the above lists and are working in the built environment but not as a civil engineer and have more than five years’ experience you will need to provide:
- Your CV
- Details of your academic qualifications (if applicable)
- Details of your professional qualifications* (if applicable) and a copy of your certificate
- A 500 word statement highlighting your expertise and why you want to become an AMICE member
*Please note that ICE will contact the professional body that you provide details of to verify your membership/registration.
Please be aware that associate membership does not provide a route to professionally qualified membership of ICE.
