Please join the South Branch AGM where the current chair, Zoe Hutchison will briefly reflect on the past year before introducing the 2024/25 committee and provide an insight into the exciting plans for the coming year. We will highlight the work of the ICE Benevolent Fund, discussing the work they undertake within our communities, supporting our members and their families when they need it most.

We are fortunate to also have in attendance representatives from the ICE Benevolent Fund, how will discuss the work they undertake within our communities, supporting our members and their families when they need it most.

Following the formal AGM, we are delighted to announce we will be hosting an engaging panel discussion about the implementation of Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG), including the challenges and opportunities these requirements have on our projects from our expert panellists.

Sue Simmonite

Sue Simmonite is the sustainable development manager for the Port of Southampton and has 27 years of experience in the ports sector.

She has held a variety of development and environment roles delivering governance and improvement initiatives as well as leading on the consenting for many key capital projects for the port including expansion of the container terminal, dredging of the main navigational approach channel, a fifth cruise terminal, shore power as well as facilitating port engagement with the Solent Freeport Consortium.

With growth levels set to double in the medium term at the port, Sue is focussing on strategic long term planning, working with stakeholders, to ensure Southampton remains at the forefront of UK port capability.

Lisa Kirby-Hawkes

Lisa Kirby-Hawkes is head of development management and flood and water management at Hampshire County Council. She has held a variety of roles in the planning field including development management, monitoring, enforcement and minerals and waste planning policy and more recently leading the lead local flood authority.

Lisa has been working with the Minerals Products Association (on behalf of Minerals and Waste Planning Officers Society) on draft guidance for the implementation of biodiversity net gain for minerals developments.
